Importance Of Receiving Oral Hygiene Examinations
July 15, 2024Pack and Plan Accordingly
Do you have a trip or vacation coming up in the near future? We know it can be stressful to pack for your travels, especially if you are preparing for your entire family. We don’t want to add more to your plate, but it is important that you pack any dental supplies you may need while traveling away from home. This includes toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, and mouthwash. Depending on your travel destination, finding a store to purchase dental supplies you forgot might be difficult. Remember to pack the accessories you need for any treatments you are receiving, such as clear aligners, nightguards, mouthguards, or any oral appliance you wear regularly. Not bringing these supplies can negatively impact your treatment plan and lead to setbacks.
Use Bottled Water
Some travel destinations may have contaminated water, so it is recommended to only drink bottled water. We also advise only using bottled water for brushing your teeth. You would be surprised at how quickly bacteria can enter your body, even just brushing your teeth. Bacteria can also linger on your toothbrush, and you will end up reintroducing it into your body the next time you brush.
Maintain Your Oral Hygiene Routine
Being on vacation does not mean you should take a break from maintaining your oral hygiene routine. Be sure to continue brushing and flossing your teeth as usual.
We would love to schedule an appointment for you or a loved one before your upcoming travels to ensure you have no complications or problems that may affect your trip. Be sure to contact our office, which is located in Charlotte, NC, to schedule an oral hygiene examination or recommended treatment. We look forward to seeing you soon!
