What are SureSmile® Clear Aligners?
Clear aligners have become a popular orthodontic treatment option over the years. This option allows patients to slowly transition teeth into the desired placement while wearing a series of clear aligner trays. Following an examination in our office, the SureSmile expert lab personnel will customize a treatment plan that is unique to your needs and desires. Patients are fond of this treatment because the aligners are virtually invisible, especially from a distance, and do not significantly alter their appearance.
Benefits of SureSmile® Clear Aligners
There are a number of benefits that patients appreciate when choosing clear aligners. The biggest one is that they are removable. When eating, drinking, or cleaning your teeth, you are expected to remove the clear aligner trays. This eliminates food restrictions that are common with traditional metal braces. Patients appreciate being able to eat their favorite foods while still receiving orthodontic treatment. They will also continue to brush and clean their teeth as usual. We do recommend that you follow our instructions on how to properly clean the aligners to prevent a buildup of bacteria.
Although each patient has a different treatment plan, most patients notice that the overall length of treatment is shorter than with traditional metal braces. Since a series of trays is sent home with each patient, there is no need for regular adjustment visits in our office. Although we do require certain visits, it is much less than needed when wearing traditional metal braces.
